I just flew AY on the A340-300 from HEL to HKG.

Looking at the general heights of Finns, I doubt Finnair took that into consideration when choosing seat pitches for their economy class seats. I was horrified to see that the seat pitch on the 343 is tighter than the MD11. I'm only 6' tall and I was pressing against the seat in front of me. Good thing the flight was empty, so I had an extra seat and could stretch out a little. Not much.

So am wondering why the seats for coach on the MD-11 has configuration 3-4-2 from row 21-29, then swtiches to 3-4-3 from rom 41, which look like the emergency exit row but there's a bulkhead there.

Anyway, it was the cheap fare from MAN I got, so I just keep thinking - think of the miles, think of the miles.

I return next week from PEK to HEL on the MD-11.
