3) No those taxes are deffinately wrong. To give you an idea of how wrong they are I booked HKG-BKK-SIN-LHR-CPH in F recently and the total taxes added up to £107! £270 is ridiculous

Re 1, provided you are happy to pay the 20 quid change fee, is it possible to change the routing of a reward flight? e.g. changing from LHR - HKG on NZ to say LHR - MUC - HKG?
