Now you have me intrigued about SFO. I'm flying back and forth to LAX for the foreseeable future, and if I can go through customs at SFO rather than the rumoured nightmare that is LAX, I may just see if I can route through there instead.
Unfortunately, Canadian flights use the domestic terminals, as far as I know. (Definitely for arrivals, I think for departures as well.) Preclearance does suck sometimes.
