Vacation cost to Hong Kong?
Hi, I'm just trying to save up money for a trip to HK in a year or two during the summer. I realize that exchange rates will probably be different, but I'm just wondering if there's any advice on how much money I should budget for a 1 month stay (I'm just looking for rough estimates and ideas first):
- food (cheap food is ok, though might go to fancier places at least 1 or 2 times during that 1-month stay)
- transportation (probably to popular shopping areas, and tourist attractions like oceanpark? or whatever the english name is, that kind of stuff - I heard there's a roughly $20 cdn/us for a purchase of the octopus card? How fast would $100 cdn dollars last, if it's only for transportation use?)
- hotels (midrange is okay, somewhere w/ easy access to transportation/popular or central areas)
Rough estimates in HK dollars or Canadian dollars would be okay, as I can convert. For mid-range hotels, I heard from a friend who did some quick searches, that a 30-day stay for a 1 room and 2 beds might be about 2200 canadian per person? (so 4000-4500 total)
Any rough estimates, advice, or helpful websites is greatly appreciated! Thank-you!
