Lots to say here, but I'll summarize (interesting discussion, but I haven't the time to go into it much more), and will make this my last post on the topic.

1. My point is that 1K status cards, like Gucci bags with big logos, and clunky gold Rolexes, are a status game that the genuinely wealthy are generally not into. Thus, the "I am very wealthy, and therefore am going to make a big deal of my 1K status" line pitched here doesn't make sense to me.

2. Nothing in the human world is a "direct correlation." Yet we can still make some statements about the world, no?

3. At the risk of sounding like a dumb email forward, please realize how good you have it in life the next time you start feeling down about there being more 1K's. I was perturbed today when I got only one shot of espresso in my iced latte, instead of the requested two, but then felt silly after I realized how few people in the world are in an economic position to pay $3 for a cup of coffee.

4. I see that we "real" 1K's are going to get a special UA gift; I'm looking forward to this.
