For me being in Vegas I don't take many transcons. I have never flown the LAS-IAD TED and only once flown the LAS-ORD route. I try to connect in LAX or DEN.

I qualify on segments not miles. I use my SWUs to Asia - that said, I rarely miss a e500 upgrade (and I have a ton to burn since I rarely use them) - however, I did miss a 8pm LAX-SFO flight a few fridays ago. I was traveling with the wife, would have gotten the upgrade, but there was only 1 seat left... Again, not involuntary, but mandatory not to take the upgrade.

Other than that I haven't missed any other upgrades that I can think of.
