Feels like the tail wagging the dog. These people should wake up and realize that it's not 1600 any more and the US is quite bigger than all these "british queens english" countries combined.

This would be like e.g. Swiss or Austrian people claiming their "German" is more correct than what people use in Germany. I have never heard any Swiss/Austrian person say something like that, and these countries readily accept that "German" German is the "standard" German. Non-US English countries should educate themselves and realize that their English is just a niche dialect of American English. Oh, and please stop being arrogant and saying your English is "better".
