LAX-ORD roundtrips are as low as $196 with no overnight required. Good for miles, not segments. You can often get 8 segments with a Sat night for about $200 (ie, ORD-DSM-DEN-LAX-SNA-DEN-CID-ORD).

ORD-DTW is ofter under $50 each way.
