The Far East has several airports that could prove lucrative for Emirates. They fly to Nagoya and Osaka, which means that to some extent they're venturing into Japan. When NRT comes online, this will be the cherry on top of an extensive network and will complete EK's Asian network as they will be serving all the prime gateways in Asia. Later on, they can focus on secondary destinations (Cebu, Bali etc.)
