I was supposed to fly on a PR 747 on the 15th, but it got changed to a 330 a few days before departure. PR is notourious for changing aircraft type frequently so if you have a seat assignment intra-PI or regional intra-Asia, check your aircraft type frequently before departure b/c if it changes you loose your seat.

I heard one of the 744s going to NRT has the new seats now and my flight would have matched up to that one so I was hoping to see the new seats, but to no avail... the 330 C seats aren't bad... no worse than any other asian regional C seat but certainly nothing to write home about.

To my knowledge the 777's won't be able to fly into the US, at least not initally since the PI transport authority got downgraded as a security risk. PR can't change any routes or aircraft type to the US during this time though they are still at least allowed to fly into the US.

If you're flying in C from the US/Canada before the upgrade, just call and ask them to put you in the front section. In my experience the call center is indifferent between F and C seats on 3 cabin aircraft on routes that don't sell F.
