I don't see how that would have solved the problem. I and others had miles post on January 1st, just before the promo. In any case, I forwarded the email to DL to see what happens.
I know it's common to get a response that makes no sense, but this is ridiculous:
Thank you for your e-mail to Delta Air Lines.
The miles requested have already been posted to your SkyMiles account.
We are unable to delete mileage already posted.
So I will try again, probably by paper mail.
