I recently got a spinner carry-on and still have mixed feelings about it. My shoulder and back appreciate the reduced strain but it can be a pain moving between different types of floors or over bumps. I have it pretty much down now, where one arm pushes the spinner and the other pulls my laptop bag, I can move really quickly through the airport that way (as opposed to lugging all of the bags behind me)
My only spinner at the moment is a check.in size. Navigating an airport with that and a laptop on wheels, I just stick the laptop on the top of the spinner and off I go. Works great!
For bumps and thresholds, I don't stop, just let the case lag behind me and pull it over on two wheels then raise it back up on four wheels and keep going.
