For the record, my request was promptly denied. And as such, I had to stay in a hotel in Paris, because I missed the last train to my town and then had to wait extra long for a train yesterday because of the strike which started in the morning. They said its based on the fare class entirely, with my youth ticket I could have changed it for 50 euros, 24 hours in advance.
