In the absence of specific information to the contrary, the OP's assumption was a reasonable one. I'll politely disagree with you, warbo - this issue shouldn't be obvious to anyone. US should state clearly that codeshare flights fall under the mileage accrual policies of the operating carrier. Just my 2 cents...
