I was reading through some of the threads and wanted to lighten the mood a bit with kids. Hope others have some light hearted kid travel adventures.
I have 4 children and fly with them quite often. We were on a Southwest flight home from Tampa after a cruise which was followed by a couple days in Busch Gardens. It was a windy day and our home airport IAD - Dulles - had all the runways closed except 1. We had been delayed several hours in the Tampa airport. I had one child next to me, otherwise we were all spread out all over the plane. It was packed due to delays.
As we were coming down, we started to experience MAJOR wind sheers. The plane was dead silent as I think most of us were praying for a safe landing. It was getting rougher and rougher and we were taking some major bounces. In the dead silence, I hear a kid (I recognized his 7 year old voice) yell in sheer joy "WEEEEE, this is just like the roller coaster at Busch Gardens !!!!" He lightened the moment as we came for a safe landing. All the passengers applauded the pilot.
