US is certainly less than clear on the subject, but they do say, "Travel on any Star Alliance member airline in the following fare classes and earn Dividend Miles". You didn't travel on UA - you traveled on LH and as such (in my mind) would be receiving whatever the notes were for S-class on LH.
I'm aware of the accrual policy for LH S-fares, and that's why I specifically booked the LH flights with UA flight numbers. I don't see anywhere on the website that operating carrier determines mileage - for all intents and purposes my booking was with UA, with a UA locator, with a UA ticket number rah rah rah. I'm determined to get those miles. If they don't specify then in dubio pro customer, right? Oh, wait, this IS US Airways we're talking about...
