My condolences to you and your family on your loss, lewiskw
Last-minute travel for bereavement - is one of the reason I advice everyone who'd listen to accumulate frequent flyer miles/points. If one has miles in his or her acct - there is almost always an easy way to locate an award ticket for same or next day travel.
You listed several programms in your FlyerTalk profile - do you have any miles in your accounts?
At the time of this writing, 11AM EST Thu 05/22/08, there are award seats available on Northwest Airlines for you to use. These are "saver" awards requiring only 25,000 miles per person for round trip.

If you do not have miles available in your own account - how about your relatives or friends? Anyone with enough miles in their account can reserve an award ticket for you as passenger.
