Trip Report of JETQUAY : Singapore's Private Terminal Service

Prelude:
I had read about Jetquay some time ago and thought it was a very interesting concept. For those of you who don’t know what Jetquay is here is a brief excerpt from their website

"Jetquay is a new terminal at Changi for those who like to travel with style, efficiency, and privacy. It is Asia’s first dedicated terminal for the CIP (Commercially Important Persons) market and is able to provide the same level of service for passengers of common carriers as it does for private jets."

When I had finalized my plans for my journey to Singapore, I decided to contact Jetquay about the different types of services they offer. Now I had already inquired about the Bentley airport pickup from the Singapore St. Regis Hotel, which includes Jetquays Quayside service in the cost. But what I was really interested in was their jetside service, which included being driven across the tarmac to Jetquays private terminal. I decided to do both, I arranged for the Bentley to pick me up from the Jetquay terminal while arranging the Jetquay Jetside pick up separately. The staff my associate (whom made the booking for me) communicated with during the booking process were very pleasant and efficient, he never had to wait for more than a few hours to receive a reply via email. To be honest, I did not know what to expect as I don’t normally treat myself to something so extravagant but to me it was worth every penny.

Report:
Now before I get into this report let me give you some background of what had happened before the flight, we had actually originated in Atlanta, but our journey took us across the globe stopping in Chicago and London beforehand. I had managed to get our bags checked in all the way through to Singapore, but in the mess that is London Heathrow they were lost. We were informed of this before we boarded the plane in London for our flight to Singapore. We really had no idea what do once we got to Singapore and was told to fill out a “lost baggage form”. It was very frustrating at the time, as we had no idea where our bags were or when they would be coming to Singapore. I was worried that this baggage search may interfere with our jetquay experience.

We disembarked the plane at about 730 in the morning at terminal three at Singapore’s Changi Airport. We had flown in from London on Singapore Airlines flight 317, A380 in Business Class, which in itself was an experience. (Please see my other review for this). As soon as we had left the aerobridge a representative from Jetquay greeted us holding a sign with our names upon it. Also with her was a security guard whom was required due to us being privately driven across the tarmac (made us feel like real celebs ☺). She inquired about our bags and when we informed her they were lost at Heathrow she told us that she would handle it. She took the luggage tags, and asked for a brief description of the bags. We were then driven in a buggy across the terminal into a waiting Mercedes underneath the terminal.

The jetquay representative then handed us over to another one of her colleagues who would be our driver to the Jetquay CIP terminal. The security guard was also with us for this part of the journey. After about a five-minute drive across the tarmac we had arrived at the terminal to be greeted by about four waiting staff and taken to the private lounge inside.

Once inside our passports were taken from us and about two minutes later they were given back to us while we were relaxing in the lounge. A Jetquay staff member informed us that they were working on the baggage situation and not to worry. We were given drinks while we waited. Also while waiting a rep. came up to me and said “Mrs. Faithwins, will you be transferring to a private jet today? I have no idea where or why this question came up as I was staying in Singapore and have never ridden on a private jet in my life. Before I could even process that I replied “No, not today”. Made me feel really important ☺. They kept us updated every couple of minutes and at about 15 minutes after our arrival they told us that they had located our bags and they would be on the next flight to Singapore. They said that they had arranged for them to be delivered to our room at the St. Regis hotel by 6pm. We were then escorted out to our waiting Bentley. Sure enough that evening our bags were waiting for us in our room.

St. Regis Bentley, very nice indeed.

Conclusion: Jetquay offers a really special and unique service that I wish was offered in more airports around the world. Never have I had such a painless & effortless experience going through an airport. I didn’t have to worry about a thing. Also it couldn’t have been a better time to use this service due to the lost baggage, they handled it all from start to finish. Never once did I have to deal with a disgruntled airport worker who had no idea where my bags were. They dealt with it all. They were professional, courteous, and efficient. I didn’t have to lift a finger while waiting in the private terminal. It was such a pleasant experience that I wanted to do it all over again. So if you are ever passing through Changi, I recommend you give this service a try.

Also, I was actually very surprised at their reasonable prices, people spend thousands to upgrade themselves on a plane to make their journey a little more bearable, so why not do the same on the ground.
As I said above it was a very spur of the moment decision to try this service, but I am very glad I did.

Thanks for reading
