Northwest Airlines WorldPerks® is excited to announce a new upgrade waitlist which will provide a greater opportunity to upgrade to World Business Class using your WorldPerks miles on international itineraries. Platinum and Gold Elite members who are booked in select Y or B fares will now have the option to be waitlisted for mileage upgrades on international itineraries. We understand that mileage upgrades are not always available, yet inventory is always changing. So to make it easier for you, we致e created a waitlist that will allow you to standby to be upgraded should inventory become available.

To be placed on the mileage upgrade waitlist, please call the Elite line at the number printed on the back of your WorldPerks Elite Card. You do not need to call Northwest to confirm your upgrade. Once the upgrade is processed, you will automatically receive an updated trip summary and receipt via email and the miles will be deducted from your WorldPerks account. Waitlisted mileage upgrades may also be processed, space permitting, at the gate.

Terms and Conditions:

Only WorldPerks members with Platinum and Gold Elite status are eligible for this International Mileage Upgrade Waitlist.
Only valid on flights operated by Northwest designated/operated flights including Trans-Pacific (in both directions) and Trans-Atlantic (US originating flights only), flights within Asia, and flights to India.
Platinum or Gold members must have a confirmed international itinerary on an applicable Northwest Y/B upgradeable fare.
By being added to the waitlist, the member is authorizing Northwest Airlines to deduct miles from the member痴 account for either the over-the-ocean segment alone or the entire international itinerary, whichever will become available.
The waitlist opens 106 days prior to departure and closes 24-hours prior to departure.
Travel companions within the same reservation will also be waitlisted for the World Business Class upgrade.
Northwest is the final authority on the interpretation of these rules.
