About 90 mins. out of Bangkok, all the cabin lights switched on, all the dividers in CW dropped, and a very pre recorded voice, exclaimed attention attention please place the oxygen masks located above your head over nose and face etc etc... There is no need to be alarmed everything is under control... There mere fact that it was a recorded voice and not one of the crew certainly made one doubt that every thing was under control.

Only one of of the oxygen panels actually opened, but passengers were very alarmed! It took at least 5 mins before the captain came on the PA to explain that it was a false alarm, caused by a passenger who was using the Oxygen system accidentally pulling the mask out of its socket.

Surely in an emergency, the crew and not automated voices should reassure pax?
