I have a business conference scheduled for later June at the Orpyland Hotel. Am planning to take the wife for the first several days. Have visited the hotel several times, but never stayed there.

In looking at the hotel's website, I see that they charge a fee, quite a hefty one ($25 one way and $35 roundtrip) in my opinion, for airport pickup. On a map the airport just doesn't seem far enough from the hotel to warrant such a charge. Another "revenue enhancer", no doubt, as imagine that many staying in one of their 2,800 rooms take this shuttle.

Anyway, anyone know any other way to get from airport to hotel and back, other than by an even more expensive rental car or taxi? Probably not, and thus the "we've got the market cornered, take it or leave it" fee by the hotel. Cannot recall ever staying at any hotel which charged such a fee. I know I can expense my shuttle fee....but it's just the thought of such a charge to give them business.
