Suffice it to say that after all passengers from the cancelled KL893 to PVG had been rebooked to KL895 to PVG which left 3 hours later, the latter still left AMS with just a couple of empty seats after accepting the few listed non rev passengers.

Just as an indicator that the cancellation was not necessarily because of lack of aircraft: KLM had 5 747s remaining overnight at AMS. PH-BFD (B-check) and PH-BFS (D-check) are undergoing heavy maintenance, yet PH-BFE, PH-BFG and PH-BFI have all been sitting idle overnight.
