The FL410 on flightaware is just the filed altitude. If you click on "track log" it shows you guys going up to 230.
I think it's a nice treat that the pilots did this. Especially these days where it seems like half the pilots are mad at management and seem to lack enthusiasm, you're lucky to have had a crew that nice. Too bad you didn't have a window seat, though
The guys up front have been known to do the same thing around Mt. Rainier on nice, clear days.

Hey as a matter of fact the crew even spoke into the PA lound and clear while explaining what things are down on the mountain. As opposed to most pilots who start saying something and then begin to mumble into the mouth piece. Like "we are gonna level off here at FL35 and we expect calm winds during the flight and on approach to ANC we might hit some #mumbe garble mumble# Then later you find out that they meant to say "we are gonna hit some wind shears so hang on its gonna be a nerve wracking approach today" Ive come to learn that mumbling or super quiet speaking into the mic means conditions arent optimal somewhere between point A and point B! LOL
