It happened to me when ordering a flight recently. I hadn't taken a personal flight with BA for a while (booked on BA.com) and didn't notice the "tick here if you don't want insurance secretly added to your flight" or whatever else it is.
IMO this is actually worse than I've ever seen from companies like Easyjet and Ryanair. I called up the BAEC line and the guy had obviously heard a lot of complaints but was told to show no mercy.
It's obviously a hidden surcharge and people are obviously routinely ripped off in this way. I do think this kind of thing should be illegal.
