I did search for 'travel insurance' before posting, but only checked the first page of results, which was quite extensive thanks to T5 repercussions.

Interestingly, one of my bookings is a straight return, the other is a multi-city itinerary, but both have attracted the unwanted insurance. Nowhere in the booking process is the insurance premium added to the price - even on the final confirmation screen.
