Oh sure we all know many people had died at the war; but when you witness a casket of a service member it will hit you hard, it makes you think this is real.

In the 90's I was working a ORD-SFO flight, agent told me that we were transported a casket of a serviceman which had been flown in from Bosnia, and there was another serviceman escorting this casket home. He had to personally witness the casket being transported in and out of plane. During the flight he was very quiet and kept to himself. Upon arrival, I was supposed to accompany him down to the ramp so he could witness the unloading, my captain who used to be in the Navy quickly jumped in and volunteered to take him down.
We all felt sad too.
