I've not seen this level of cleaning but I'm inclined to agree. Even my gym shower which gets huge volumes of traffic has never caused me any issues. Perhaps I'm being naive but after years of using various hotel, gym and other facilities my feet remain fine -- if the floor looks awful I'm not trusting the facility at all, otherwise I just let it sail. If I happen to have sandals around (i.e. a beach personal trip) I'll wear them of course but I've never thought to bring them although many people seem to do so.
