My recent smackdown received as a 1P:

I'm in the window and another passenger is in the aisle LHR-IAD. He saw my boarding pass that I had dropped in the empty middle seat and made a point that he was a 1k.

1k: i'm about halfway to renewing my 1k status:
me: how many miles do you have so far this year?
1k: passing 50k on this flight. i'll hit 100k by september with deqm.
me: yeah, i was on track to hit 100k by september as well, but with deqm, i'll zoom on by. i might even hit 150k by year's end.
1k: it must be awful to fly all those miles as a 1p. too bad they don't count as much as being a 1k.
me: yeah, i wish i could be earning cr-1s, but i'll get there soon enough.
1k: no, i mean your miles won't count as much because you are only a 1p.

i had to laugh. sometimes in a rush to exhibit status, common sense leaves the building.
