Frighteningly there are days when you sound so lilke my husband that I do wonder if you and he are not the same person. Indeed some kind soul PMd me not so long ago asking if this was the case.

. I explained that you were not into cradle snatching and so this would not be the case.

Now to get back to this topic that occurs with such regularity that I wonder that it has not been made into a sitcky - I have to say that though I adore Champagne beyond all drinks (maybe I have a taste for all things sour?!

) pink Champagne in general is over rated to me. Most of it is not made in the classical manner and has red wine added. It is fun, it is pretty, and it is refreshing in the summer but to my mind there is far better white.
Since I long ago gave belief in the "if it is expensive it must be better" as you do not always get what you pay for. As our French board members will be well aware that there are marques which are made for the supermarkets (Auchan, Carrefour, etc) which have in the past actually been the expensive ones with the cheap label. It was a Soumelier in Paris who put me on to this - at the time the Houses were way overstocked and had to get rid of stuff but did not want to damage the brand image so sort of Own Branded the stuff. It was a fraction the proce and as in the days that I thought that cheap meant nasty I really did not expect much. More fool me. I kicked myself and went over in the car and stocked up. Him Indoors thought that I had either finally taken leave of my senses or that I had come to tham and was planning a new wedding!
What I want to know is this. Which Champagne would be available on ice in the First Class lounges of our OneWorld partners for our Gold Card holders to enjoy in similar circumstances? Is it as good? Better? Just curious.
