Oasis Hong Kong Airlines Limited
(Provisional Liquidators Appointed)
Second notice to Oasis Hong Kong Airline Passengers
14 May 2008
Upon our appointment as Provisional Liquidators of Oasis Hong Kong Airlines (“OHKA”) on 09 April 2008, we have received numerous enquiries from passengers in relation to their claims against OHKA. To address the majority of the passengers’ concerns, we can confirm the following:
1. Flight operations of OHKA have been cancelled since 10 April 2008 until further notice.
2. According to its books and records, OHKA was not a bonded airline under the Civil Aviation Authority's Air Travel Organisers' Licensing consumer protection scheme or any other similar scheme.
3. Although it is still too early to determine whether OHKA passengers will receive a refund of their unused ticket purchases, it should be noted that OHKA is an insolvent company that has a very significant shortfall of assets against liabilities.
4. OHKA passengers who have paid for their unused flight tickets by credit cards might be entitled to a refund from their issuing credit card companies.
OHKA passengers are advised to contact their issuing credit card companies directly for further details regarding the submission of a claim. However, please note that any claim against credit card companies and the claim against OHKA are two separate claims.
If passengers have any queries regarding the above, please contact the customer service hotline in Hong Kong at +852 3628 9068 (opening hours are Monday to Friday, 0900-1800 Hong Kong local time) or by email at
[email protected].
