I haven't received this offer so I called up HSBC and enquired how they select which customers the offer is sent to. To my surprise, the seemingly knowledgeable lady on the phone said it is done randomly. You would have thought an elephant that is HSBC would have a more sophisticated approach!

And according to her, there is no way of enrolling onto an offer that wasn't sent to you.

So, tedhl/Christep, if you don't mind, I would like to do an experiment. From seeing previous HSBC offers there should be a need to register and that is done by calling a non-account specific phone number. I am curious to see what happens if I call that number and punch in my card number, can you post that number here?

Otherwise, it looks like my HSBC Premier Card will remain as unused as ever!
