But getting into an altercation or physically injuring someone over something that, in perspective, isn't that big a deal seems foolish. Not only do you stand a good chance of being arrested, spending thousands of dollars on legal representation, and potentially a number of weekends picking up trash alongside the freeway...if the wrong people are around, you might not find flying on commercial aircraft a travel option anymore.

I feel the same way and in the 500k+ miles of flying I've done in the past decade, I've yet to see a situation devolve into a physical confrontation. It makes me wonder if people really have the resolve to do what they say they're going to do on the internet because I'm certainly not seeing it in reality. It's easy to be a tough guy behind a keyboard.

Personally, I wouldn't engage in any sort of confrontation if merely for the fact that some trigger happy FAM could come up behind you and put two in your back as in what happened a few years ago at MIA. That and as you alluded to, I don't think I'd enjoy being black listed either.

But yeah, in any case, certainly not worth it. Self defense is a separate issue however, if someone wanted to start swinging elbows, *ahem*.
