As for letting the elites board early, I'm all for it. How else could I choose whose shined shoes I smunch as I climb to my window seat. Meanwhile, the much battered corners of my old $19.95 rolla - once, but no longer - board will scar the heck out of any Vuitton or Hermes already in the bin, as I shove it into place, as like Scaramouche, I cry: "Thrust home!"

Not since the Lollard Uprisings and the French Revolution have we seen such societal leveling as is provided by today's air travel. On domestic flights at least, aside from greater clearance for wide rears up front, flying is little better than was yesteryear's Greyhound.
