Also, if AC is incorporating their other expenses as fuel charges, that is just as wrong.. The fuel surcharges should reflect the actual cost of the fuel your flight uses. Not that of other vehicles AC operates.
How much time on a 1 hour flight is an aircraft actually at cruise speed? For YYZ-YOW/YUL I would think the majority of the flight you are either ascending/descending which is not the most efficient for aircraft.
