Increase fares is clearly within their prerogatives. What is sneaky and people are upset about is that AC does it as an added surcharge, vs. a straight fare increase.
Announcing it in a press release is so terribly sneaky
OT but along a similar train of thought. In NZ all sticker prices on goods offered for sale include GST. No till shock. If Canadians, vendors and buyers, could could grasp the simplification of all inclusive pricing on all goods, as well as doing away with that pesky penny, life would be ...simpler.
We Canadians do like to complicate things.
