Not to be contrarian, but they had nowhere to go but up .

Even with the Safari quirks, Apple is killing everyone else in this space (in my limited opinion, which is formed by being a blackberry curve user with Iphone browser envy who has no use for Windows Mobile because I don't need my phone going BSOD 2xdaily).

My experience mirrors riteshraja. The time (in terms of time, not offset/timezone) will update from the network, but the timezone will not. I have not poked around all that much--in my case it may be some BES stupidity that I don't know about. A minor thing, and I often change my watch to leave the phone on my "home" timezone in any case.
