Was on a UA flight from NRT to IAD. I noticed that after the plane pulled back from the gate, all the ground staff waved goodbye and bowed to the plane. It seems this is a Japanese habit to send a plane off. I noticed the same habit when I flew NH and JL as well, and even the GAs waved their hands.
