I am flying LHR-BKK-HKT next month and was wondering if someone can help with the following questions.
1) We booked this on a BMI miles+cash booking, do we just call TG and ask for them to allocate us seats?
2) On the topic of seats, do you have any recommendations for 2 people travelling in F. We both quite like window seats, so were thinking about 1A and 1K, but not sure if this is too far away to have a bit of a chat ala BA F.
3) On arrival at BKK, what is the procedure - clear immigration/pick up luggage? I would hope it is all just checked through, but have only ever done international-international (same flight numbers) transits through BKK before on the Kangaroo route.
4) On the return HKT-BKK we are booked onto the 747 - do these have F seats? How do we bag them? We are ticked in J for this sector, but I wonder if the F seats are used.
Any other tips or tricks to note? We are connecting at LHR from GLA on BMI, and have a two hour stopover which I hope is enough.
1) Yes, look here
http://www.thaiairways.co.uk/pages/f...s_on_board.htm
and you can choose your meal and there's a number to call to book meal + seat.
2) 1A/K are too far apart to talk comfortably - the centre cabin seats are the only ones you could do this. Due to the galley layout there is more service traffic on the K side. 1A/K will have a little more foot traffic early on due to the closet.
never connected within THailand so not sure about the rest.
Regarding tips - I've found it best on TG to ask for for my pre-booked meal to replace the minor meal on the flight (usually breakfast) and select the main meal off the menu - need to do this pretty much on boarding.
Have a great trip!
