The set of 2 seats in the middle of the cabin is the standard answer for 2 people traveling together. We prefer to look out the window too, so we choose 2F and 3K, which are very close together -- basically right across the aisle from each other, and much closer than Row 1. We still dined together, facing each other, at the window seat. This is more useful on the daytime return flight than the outbound, when the window reveals nothing but darkness.
