I have always advocated keeping the money in "the family" so I always call local merchants first. I was in a rush so I only called two. Both were just as expensive as FTD and unwilling to negotiate. One got quite snide when I even made the suggestion saying the $15 delivery was justified given the cost of gas. Give me a break, even at $4 a gallon you can do quite a few deliveries on a busy Mother's day on a gallon of gas. I was pressed for time and figure "what the heck," I'll just do FTD and be done with it. They are the pros--they'll take care of it. Less stress--right?
