I just got a Tilt and am happy with it. Could have had the iPhone but chose the Tilt over it. I couple of reasons:
- replaceable battery
- 3G data out of the AT&T box
- HSDPA data with registry change
- ability to remove all AT&T applications from phone
- ability to reskin the user interface and dialer application
- tethering via USB or bluetooth with Windows XP/Vista
- tethering via Bluetooth on Mac
- tethering data plan which comes out $10 less per month than a data card plan
I actually got 750 Kbps down and 350 kbps up on one of those broadband speed things. Did this from San Antonio downtown area on my yucky slow Windows XP corporate laptop.
Yes there are some aspects of the Tilt that are less than ideal but it does what I need to do well.
If I look at the other phone, I'll be coveting it and I've got 1 year and 11 months to go on this contract.
