It sounds like a FAM (Federal Air Marshall) needed a VAC (vacation) so bumped you from your original seat assignment and Delta decided to give you 1K (1000) miles for it.
I wish they would give you the better kind of 1K (United top status) instead of this almost worthless gesture.
Oh, I assure you, a FAM would not have wanted my seat.
