A CSD told me that becuse there is no longer the congestion queuing for stands in the old International area (the U shape between gates 16 - 28 and 36 - 52) planes can park and get turned round quicker. Also the despatchers are covering a much more limited no of gates etc etc.
Unfortunately that doesn't reflect my recent experiences. Waited 40 minutes for a gate on arrival before being bussed to terminal.
