Ladies and gentlemen,
It is with great delight that I make this announcement:
Flyertalk has been approached by British Airways with a unique and very exciting proposition. BA is offering three lucky delegates from the Flyertalk community with an opportunity to visit its facility at Cranebank, meet its training staff and 'take the wheel' of one of the Boeing 777 flight simulators.
This is an incredibly generous offer by BA. I should add, the Cranebank team is terribly proud of the facility it has at Heathrow and get a real kick out of sharing the simulator experience with enthusiastic members of the public. I have no doubts that a great many of us would give almost anything to be able to sit up front and take control of a civil aircraft. If you follow this
link, it will help you will to visualise what's on offer. So, this is your chance to become a Nigel, if only for a few hours
This event will take place at 6:00pm on the evening of Wednesday 28 May. See below for more details.
So, if you are interested and able commit to this date, please sign up as soon as you possibly can. The deadline for expressing interest will be 22:00 BST on Sunday 11 May.
We want to open this up to as many individuals as possible but as demand is anticipated to outstrip supply, the final three delegates will be selected at random from the sign up list (plus 3 stand-ins in case any of the finalists find themselves unable to attend at the last minute) An announcement will be made shortly after the sign-up closes.
Good luck and God speed
