There's no way (or at least an obvious way) to get from Arrivals to Departures at T5 except for going through Flight Connections or going out, up a level and then back in again using standard security. On the domestic I flew last weekend, they showed the T5 welcome video which includes a section on going through the Flight Connections so it may be that if you've gone straight through security at Edinburgh on the PYOBP then they'll check it at Flight Connections.
