A word of warning to those of you booking this hotel/rate (and I already have anther reservation there): Watch your SPG account closely.
I noticed that the stay and point credits appeared but that my 'nights to Gold/Platinum' counter did not go down. So I emailed the hotel and got this:
Thank you for your recent correspondence concerning your Starwood
Preferred Guest account. I welcome this opportunity to assist you.
Your stay at the The Westin Reston Heights on May 02, 2008 did not
receive room rate credits, therefore, it is not counted as a stay. The rate
plan under which you stayed appears to be a valid rate plan for stay
credits. In cases where the Starpoints or stay credits are less than you
had expected, we must have a complete copy of the hotel folio in order
to complete a full review of your detailed charges. Would you please
resend your documents and include a copy of your complete hotel folio so
we may assist you further and ensure you receive Starpoints and
credits for all eligible charges. I apologize for any inconvenience you may
have experienced as a result of this.
So now in order to get the stay to count I've got the PITA of digging up the folio and faxing it to customer service.
