Couldn't find an answer to this in the many T5 threads so here goes;

Amongst the many emails from BA over the last week in advance of an EDI-LHR-HKG journey, one was titled "Important information about your booking reference XXXXXX".

The email seems to be all T5 related and includes a paragraph about Passport & Visa Checks.

If you're flying longhaul or taking a shorthaul flight to Moscow, St. Petersburg, Prague or Kiev and you've checked in online or at a Check-in Kiosk at the terminal, you'll need to go to one of the Passport and Visa Check desks before going to Security. If you have luggage for the hold, your passport and visa will be checked automatically by our staff at a Fast Bag Drop or Customer Service Desk.

Then there is a separate paragraph about Transferring through T5 that makes no mention of such checks.

Are there Passport & Visa Check Desks on the flight connections route, or is that part of the biometrics check? Or are the Passport checks done in EDI etc?
