I will be around during that kind of period, and you are right prices are completely out of whack from what I am used to. €159 for a standard room at the Zlaty Strom is a bit steep, but I could half-justify it if location is key and they're only staying for a couple of days.
If they can make do with 2.5 stars, the Ibis on Wenceslas Sq. is available for €100, while the 4-star Novotel next to it can be had for €135 (prices sans breakfast).
