Trust me, if you drink a Jones cream soda, the aftertaste lingering won't be sweetener. I'm completely the opposite from you two. When I drink sugared drinks (or well HFCS drinks), I get a sugar (HFCS) aftertaste. Not to mention now that my nicely brushed and flossed mouth will start to feel like e plaque factory. For many people it's not an issue. I also don't want to be bringing that much sugar into my diet. Flying sucks enough without having insulin come into it.
I'm sort of amazed the opposition to change the loyalty that people have to Coke/Pepsi. They both essentially used modern chemistry to screw their American customers. Even Mexicans get actual sugar, but the American public who "loves Coke" so much just roll over and take it. I don't get how customers have loyalty to a company that would do something like that. It's funny how Coke and Pepsi are these institutions, but people just let them pull sugar out of there and give them a pass. Jones have, and always will be, made with real sugar. You can love Coke all you want, but they're too cheap to even put sugar in your Coke. I don't get why people would want to drink that.
"Jones has some really interesting ones and it's a shame that the four that Alaska have now are rather plain."
That's probably because the average person's palette is rather plain. It would be nice to see them rotate a flavor through once a month. They do have all of the logistics to deal with though.
I think I'll make a point of asking for Jones every time I go to the AS lounge in SEA.
