Which is absolutly not true for consolidator tickets bought in Germany (I know nothing about US consolidator):
90% of my UA-tickets bought here in Germany are consolidator tickets.
I always get miles with them.
If seats are available I can upgrade with them (500 miles certificates) and I can upgade with miles if I buy a discounted H-fare from the consolidator.
There was never a problem and I am Premier Executive since 5 or 6 years.
